Balsa Sheets are our most popular Balsa Wood format.

Sheet material is available in a wide range of sizes from 0.8mm to 25mm thick, 75 and 100mm wide and 915 or 1220mm long. Most sheets are A grain for ease of manufacture and cost effectiveness but B and C grain are available from time to time. Just ask us if we have any in stock.

My building skills don’t warrant (Or really believe in the benefits) from specifically light balsa, so I use what I gets sent, and they fly just the same!!

Excellent quality

My 3rd order from BC and the quality and cut of this balsa is excellent. Unfortunately with the Chinese purchasing all Balsa Farms the price will preclude me from scratch building in the future.

Scratch Aircraft Builder

Generally the quality was satisfactory to good. However a few sheets were in the "heavy" category - these have very limited use in model aircraft construction and considering the price of the material I really don't want too many in my order. I have been purchasing balsa for over 60 years and am shocked at the price and quality generally offered today - this makes me hard to please.

Hi Michael, thanks for your honest appraisal of the 1220mm Balsa Sheet. Yes there is a range of weights within the Medium band of densities that we use for production. You can order 'Aerolite' balsa sheets in the 915mm format if you need lighter grade in the future. All the best - Peter
